Prof Ellis Idemobi studied at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Cardiff Business School, University
of Wales UK and Robert Gordon University, Scotland. His specialized postgraduate work at the
Cardiff Business School, University of Wales earned him laurels as the best student of
Management in Developing Countries in 1989. Prof Idemobi started his work career at the
Federal Centre for Management Development (FCMD) Lagos, Nigeria as a Senior Management
Research Fellow in 1984 where he undertook extensive work in the theory and practice of
entrepreneurship. Prof Idemobi was an Instructor/Advisor at the British Small Firms Institute
Cardiff and Associate Lecturer at the Cardiff Business School, University of Wales between 1989
and 1992. In January 1998 he was seconded to the United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) as Programme Advisor for Nigeria where his contributions in industrial promotion and
community development became legendary. He was appointed Senior Lecturer in the
Department of Business Administration and Management at the Anambra State University (Now
Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam Campus, Anambra State in September
2006 from where he rose to the position of Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship in
2012. He was at various times Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences of the University, Director,
Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies, Director, Academic Planning, Member representing the
Senate in the University Governing Council and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) 2017-Date.
Prof Idemobi has to his credit seven standard University texts (all in use in Nigerian Universities)
and over seventy research articles published in reputable national and international journals.
Many of Prof Idemobi’s works have produced high reference impact and in 2009 he won the
International Emerald Highly Commended Paper Award on impact factor for his paper titled
‘Cultural Determinants of Entrepreneurial Emergence in a Typical Sub-Saharan African Context’.
Prof Idemobi is a member of the Academy of Management Nigeria; Nigerian Association of
Entrepreneurship Trainers; Alberta Entrepreneurship Trainer’s Association; Fellow of the
Singapore Management University; Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Administrative Management;
Fellow, Chartered Institute of Management Consultants; Fellow, Academy of Entrepreneurship
Scholars Nigeria and also a Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Cambrooks University
College, Calgary Canada and the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka Business School. Prof Idemobi
has travelled extensively around the world and is happily married to Barr (Mrs) Cynthia Idemobi
with four adult children.
